Once this happens, it’s time to introduce a daily brushing routine. A rice-size smear of fluoride toothpaste should be used for children under 3, and a pea-size amount for children between 3-6. It is around this age when children should have the ability to brush their teeth twice daily as you supervise them. After your child reaches the age of 8 or 9, ensure that they can properly and thoroughly brush their teeth on their own.
